1.- The main objective of «Women In Direction» is to show and promote films of artistic quality directed by women which contribute to the knowledge of worldwide cinema.
2.-The 5th edition of «Women In Direction» International Film Festival, Cuenca will be held between November 22rd and November 27th, 2010.
3.-The Festival consists of the following sections:
a) OFFICIAL SECTION: competitive section for fiction feature lengths.
b) SHORT STORIES: competitive section for short films with a running time up to 20 minutes.
c) HUMAN VALUES: competitive section for documentaries.
d) SIDEBARS: devoted to films for adolescents, for children and to the presentation of a filmmaker, a genre, a nation’s cinema, etc.
e) WORKSHOPS.
4.-All films entered for the OFFICIAL, SHORT STORIES and HUMAN VALUES sections must comply with the following conditions:
a) They must have been produced in 2010 or 2009.
b) The director must be a woman.
c) They must have had no previous commercial, DVD, video or TV screening in Spain.
d) They should be presented in their original language version, preferably with Spanish subtitles.
They may be submitted with English subtitles, in which case a spotting list of the subtitles and a DVD must be supplied beforehand to permit preparation of electronic subtitles into Spanish.
5.-A Jury of fifty members of the public will decide the Award for the Best Feature. Each Jury member signs an agreement to view all the features in competition and award points between 0 and 5 for each film.
6.-A Jury of three short film directors will decide the Award for Best Short Film.
7.-A Jury of five members of the media will decide the Award for Best Documentary (Media Award).
8.-Every year «Women In Direction» also offers the “City of Cuenca Award” to a professional of the cinema, either for her career or for an outstanding feat.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN «WOMEN IN DIRECTION»
